For many, the festive season comes with the expectation of over-indulging and eating until the point of bursting. Then falling asleep. Looking to put emphasis on the ways in which people can still enjoy a festive feast, while being mindful of their physical and mental health, Bupa were looking to team up with a celebrity from the world of health and food.
With 2.4 million followers on her ‘Deliciously Ella’ Instagram account and a hugely successful range of health foods to her name, we paired them with Ella Mills.
Ella began what started out as a recipe website ‘Deliciously Ella’ in 2012 after being diagnosed with a chronic illness led her on a journey of self-exploration into the realms of plant-based and vegan cooking. Fast forward more than 12 years and she has an app, multiple awards, food products, an exclusive partnership with Waitrose, multiple cookbooks, a thriving social media presence and much more, to her name. So, to say we were excited about this match is an understatement!
Bupa, who are one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers, set to work creating the concept for ‘Seasons Eatings with Emma Mills’ – a video for use on YouTube and Instagram where Emma cooks a healthy festive feast while talking about her own health battles, among many other topics.
During a shoot day set against a kitchen backdrop and festive set-design, Ella filmed the full YouTube video which was the hero for the campaign, showing her cooking the main, side and dessert for Christmas Day, an explanation of why she has teamed up with Bupa and the nutritional information of each dish. As well as this, she filmed for two Instagram feed posts and a story which included a quick-fire Q&A session.
The 6-minute YouTube video when posted on Bupa’s page, gained a huge 3.4million views and the accompanying social posts shared across both Ella and Bupa’s platforms gained significant engagement from followers looking for insightful content over the festive season.
