F1 Guenther Steiner and author Peter Hacker speak at Rubrik’s Data Security Talk

As part of their ongoing mission to secure the world’s data, cloud management company Rubrik hosted a virtual Data Security Talk for its German employees.

Rubrik, who help protect business’ data from malicious attacks, brought everyone together for a morning of insightful talks from some of the best security experts in Europe. In addition, they were thrilled when we were able to secure them with two additional speakers one from the world of sport and the other an author and expert in cybercrime.

We were excited to first pair them with F1’s very own Guenter Steiner. He spoke about how the world of F1 has to deal with all types of data, from simulation and pace to weather, and the ways in which the sport and its people have to be resilient.

Guenter is a motorsport engineer and the current team principle of the Haas Formula One team – a position he has held since 2014. Prior to this he was the managing director of Jaguar Racing and technical operations director of Red Bull Racing.

The team principle has become somewhat of a paddock celebrity following his participation in Netflix’s hit-series Drive to Survive which follows and documents the F1 drivers and their teams through the racing season.

Additionally, we partnered Rubrik with author and cybercrime expert Peter Hacker. His work as a speaker has taken him across the world discussing topics such as cybercrime and cyber warfare, the digital revolution and the ‘internet of everything’ to name just a few.

For over two decades he has been advising top managers of large banks, insurance, tech companies as they fight against cyberattacks. During his talk for Rubrik, he looked at why both companies and individuals struggle to protect themselves against the many different online threats.
