FASHION DESIGNER SIAN GABBIDON CHAMPIONS SMALL BUSINESSES IN METRO BANK BROADCAST

While nobody can ignore the many economic tragedies of Covid 19, Metro Bank sought to praise the achievements of small business owners who launched their own enterprises during a difficult time (us included!). Research they conducted found that ‘one in eight owners had launched their enterprises after March 2020 with job losses and furlough the main reason for over a quarter of these.’

Offering business bank accounts for all business from start-ups to commercia, Metro Bank saw their findings as a perfect opportunity to not only applaud business owners, but also highlight the benefits of their accounts. As part of this, Llloyds required a celebrity spokesperson to add a touch of personality to their broadcast campaign. The Celebrity Sauce Co. is a small (but mighty of course) business so we jumped at the chance to be involved in such a campaign.

With a brief to find a leading businessperson who has experience running a start-up, as well as a name that would make an impact on the radio, we put our creative heads together and secured the bank a partnership with Sian Marie Gabbidon.

Sian is a British fashion designer whose entrepreneurial skills not only saw her set up her own swimwear and fashion brand, but also saw her become the official business partner to Sir Alan Sugar after she won the 2018 edition of The Apprentice.

Thrilled to be championing fellow start-ups and small businesses, Sian shared her own experiences as a business owner and offer advice to small businesses who are nervous about recovery post-COVID-19. The match between the brand and celebrity was perfect and the broadcast was a great success.
