Five celebs and content creators join forces with Sainsbury’s

Supermarket chain Sainsbury’s were in need of celebrities and content creators to help them raise awareness of their +500 accessible Smart Charge Hubs across the UK. Keen to demonstrate their commitment to ensuring anyone and everyone can use their charging stations, we teamed them up with well-known names – with each one using their social media platforms as a positive way to raise awareness of their own individual disabilities.

Racing driver and athlete Nicolas Hamilton is the first disabled athlete to compete in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). He has amassed a huge following and fan base by constantly defying the limits his Cerebral Paulsy tries to put in front of him. His Instagram, followed by 381k people, is a place of positivity and motivation.

Actress and influencer Annabelle Davies gained fame during her role in CBBC’s The Dumping Ground and later acting in Hollyoaks. She inherited spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita from her father, actor Warwick Davis, and is a patron for the Young People Counselling Service. Her hugely followed Instagram account follows her exciting life, funny videos and the occasional appearance from her dad.

Eliza Rain, who goes by ‘Disabled Eliza’ is a content creator on a mission to tackle big and sometimes difficult topics, in a fun and colourful way. Her account with 134k followers is used to address her disability, LGBTQ+ education and inclusion.

Giving glimpses into her day-to-day life as a wheelchair user, Amy Pohl has gained 223k followers on Instagram and a huge 3 million on TikTok. Diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), she never shies away from addressing issues that concern her, as well as creating funny and relatable videos for her followers.

The fifth and final creator for the Sainsbury’s collaboration is travel and lifestyle influencer Stephanie Weller. She uses her Instagram to showcase her love for fitness, travel as a wheelchair user and her family life.

As part of the social media campaign, each individual was tasked with creating their own Instagram reel that not only reflected their individual personalities but shone a light on the work Sainsbury’s have done to ensure their charging points are easy to use. The content included highlighting the roomier bays all of the charging hubs have, the competitive pricing and 24/7 customer support.

With a combined following of 822.6k followers, the five-some proved to be a powerhouse for Sainsbury’s and each created reels that received great engagement for the supermarket.
