Hugh Dennis adds a comedic touch to annual Comms Business Awards

Each year, the UK’s channel community gathers to celebrate the Comms Business Awards where the hard work and dedication of individuals, partners and vendors are brought to light. This year the black-tie affair took place at the Royal Lancaster in London, but to make it extraordinary for all in attendance, organisers required a special celebrity host to carry the evening.

We know events like these can live or die by the chosen host. Pick the wrong one and awkward silences fill the room. We’ve all been there. Pick the right one though and the room will be filled with laughter, fun and entertainment. Luckily for the Comms Business Awards, we know what we’re doing and secured them a host in comedian Hugh Dennis.

Hugh is a multi-talented celebrity having made a name for himself as a comedian, presenter, actor and writer. We know him best for his part as Pete Brockman in the semi-improvised sit-com Outnumbered – a role he played for seven years. Many know him for being the panellist on Mock the Week since its debut on television in 2005 as well as appearing as a contestant on game shows such as Taskmaster and Would I Lie To You? among many others.

Instantly recognisable and a well-known name, Hugh certainly brought some star quality to the evening’s proceedings. He was responsible for hosting the evening where he introduced award categories, revealed the winners and took photos with them on stage.

The event, which also raised over £14,000 for Young Minds UK, was one of laughter and memories thanks to Hugh’s fantastic hosting duties.
