Blacklane Cars, who offer a door-to-door chauffeur service including exclusive private hire, were looking to team up with a busy working celebrity who could demonstrate the many benefits of their best-in-class service.
Being the founder and CEO of a social networking app for women, naturally means a day-to-day schedule that can involve multiple locations. Michelle Kennedy, behind the app Peanut, proved the perfect person for Blacklane. And we were thrilled to be behind the collaboration.
Michelle came up with the idea for the app when, during her first pregnancy in 2014, she noticed a need for a place where women can connect at different stages of their lives. Since starting Peanut off the back of this, it has gone on to become one of the TIME100’s most influential companies and one of the fastest growing social networking apps for women.
The work with Blacklane Cars came over the festive season, when Michelle was in particular need of getting around from place-to-place. The brand, who pride themselves on their luxury service and the highest cleaning standards, are a popular choice for anyone looking to travel in style and comfort around London (as well as the 50 other countries they hold a presence in).
The collaboration requirements included a branded piece for use in The Times as well as an Instagram reel to be shared on their own social media as well as on Michelle’s which has 15.6k followers.
The Times piece included quotes and a professional photoshoot with Michelle where she detailed the hectic schedule her days can entail and the ways in which having a reliable car service can lighten the load. “This car is my office, my changing room, and my sanctuary,” she said. The Instagram reel showed Michelle going from one business event to another, while demonstrating the amenities that come with Blacklane Car hire including free refreshments, wireless phone charging and a slick operation, of course.
The result was a great campaign that demonstrated that the right brand and celebrity pairing can truly work wonders.
