The Hoosiers band together with Action For Children fundraising night

For 18 years UK children’s charity Action for Children has hosted its Never Mind the Business fundraising event. This year it took place at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow and saw more than 800 guests gather to help raise money. All money raised went to The Action for Children Crisis Fund to support struggling families with food, utility bills and other essentials – a cause that’s more poignant than ever this winter.

While the aim of the night is to raise important funds, fun and laughter is also at its heart. And to ensure it was one to remember, organisers were on the lookout for a band to surprise guests with. Having become one of the biggest fundraising events of its kind, the pressure was on for us to find a band that would truly delight everyone.

With much experience in securing live acts and performances for events, we were able to find the perfect band in The Hoosiers.

The pop rock band rose to fame in the mid-late 2000s with their first single Worried About Ray reaching number 5 in the UK Singles Charts. From there, they went on to release their debut album The Trick to Life which climbed to number one in the album charts.

Before The Hoosiers took to the stage as the headline act of the night, guests, who were under a strictly jeans and t-shirt dress code, were treated to a drinks reception and dinner. Following this they were split into teams to take part in a Never Mind The Buzzcocks-inspired quiz as well as auctions and a raffle.

The Hoosiers concluded the night with their surprise set where they performed some of their best-known songs including Goodbye Mr A, Choices and of course Worried About Ray.

The night was a huge success raising £150,000 for the cause and giving guests a night to remember.
